Whether you were drawn here by my photos or someone else's, I can guarantee that after seeing photos of the Lencois Maranhenses in Brazil, you immediately wanted to go!
That's my story--or part of it. Jet is Brazilian, if you didn't know, and when he announced that his parents were having their 50th anniversary in Brazil this year, and that we would be going, I knew that I could jump at the opportunity to plan our own little tour of his home country, including this incredible-looking desert filled with freshwater lagoons! It had been 10 years since we last visited here, afterall, and with a country this big, there are no shortage of places to visit!
If you fell in love with the pictures of Big Sur like I did, and you're headed there to take your own photos of these jaw-dropping scenic vistas, there's a few things you won't want to forget on your journey!
Packing for California wasn't an easy task for me. I wanted to make sure I was prepared for all kinds of weather conditions and different activities, like walking through trendy San Francisco and Monterey, or hiking through the wilderness of Big Sur and mountains in Yosemite.
Whenever I start telling someone about my SEA trip, I always start with a recommendation of stopping in Hong Kong. It's a city for everyone because of its diverse layout and landscape. It's also a major international flight destination, and you can find some cheap tickets if you're like me and heading east from the US. We ended up saving over $300 a ticket just by flying into Hong Kong instead of directly into Vietnam or Thailand!
Emily & Jet: Our travel is modest, but packed with adventure. Cheap, but not hostel-cheap. Romantic, but exciting and memorable. We take little, but grand, adventures together to grow in love and life experience.
